From the dark
A flickering glow
It glimmered in the night...
Unknowing of my journey
I stumbled along
Many people I crossed
Many words I did speak
Improvising as I went about
Tears I shed;
I shed them in secret
The cloak of the dark
Covering their drops
The words I spoke;
I spoke them in vain
No one was there
To hear them
Weary I teeter.
I barely remember my steps
But eventually I found
The flickering glow
Glimmering in the night
Dimly it shone at first
Now slowly it brightens
I fall on a chair
Exhausted and confused
So sick of all the night
My soul so drained
My life so tired
But...
From this dark
I see you emerge
Picking me up so gently
You carry me out
Into an everlasting light.
